The product itself works GREAT. Used them for my Burton AK Tech gloves.

The product itself works GREAT. I have used them on my Burton AK Tech gloves and they have worked wonders and taken care of the leather. The applicator could use some work, it took me quite a while to get used to it.

Terrible bottle design

Maybe a good product. I would never know because I couldn't get it out of the bottle! This is not a spray but a sponge applicator. Nothing comes out except a few drops. I managed to get one of the fingertips of my glove wet and that was it. Worst Design!

Not Effective: Motorcycle and Powersports

I've found this not at all effective for waterproofing my son's gloves. bottle) didn't have the water repellency that I've seen with gloves. There are definitely better products out there like the Thompson airlock in a spray can that would be better and I've had success in the past.

Solid weatherproof solution - seems to work

Application takes a long time for full skin (heated gloves). It's a DAB applicator and lube. It took 10 minutes to make a glove. Next time I buy I will try the spray version. The water resistance is good. I will update the information if I get caught in heavy rain while driving or during a snowfall. Rating "good" only because the "smudge and apply" feature isn't fast - applicator (needs improvement). The impregnation mortar looks very good, but I only tested it under the tap.

Better than nothing

I used this product on a pair of ski gloves that used to be waterproof but goretex or anything else that was ever used started leaking around my thumbs. I apply a nice thick coat of Nikwax and let it dry overnight. The next day I went sailing with some friends and as this is Seattle of course it was raining. Admittedly this was quite a challenge for Nikwax as not only did we get wet in the pouring rain but also hauled in wet lines to trim the sails. The gloves lasted about an hour before they…

The easy way to minimize water absorption

Nikwax Glove Proof is a water-based swab applicator that minimizes water absorption from leather or cloth gloves. I've used it on both leather and cloth gloves with a waterproof membrane to minimize "soak through" and on unlined deerskin and elk leather gloves to slow down saturation. After processing, the gloves are still pleasant to the touch and their "breathability" has not changed. When you ride motorcycle in strong wind, Glove Proof rain will definitely improve the waterproof performance…

Gloves Handy Tip

I recently used Nikwax on my 5 year old snowmobile gloves. They are very warm but have no Gore-Tex or Hipora lining. The impregnation comes from the outer shell, which wears out significantly. My results were very good, but the instructions on the back of Nikwax are missing an important step. First you need to wet your gloves by holding them under the tap. All of the fabric should be damp. My gloves were soaked with water. Once the gloves are completely damp, begin applying Nikwax. Be generous!
