Fixed brake lights stay on

I have a 2002 Infiniti i35 (like Nissan Maxima). The brake lights wouldn't go out and hence that little piece of rubber behind the brake pedal. They are crumbling/falling off after almost 20 years and a general auto parts store will be open temporarily but not for long. You need this exact OEM part, it will fix the light problem forever

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Powered by 1997 Nissan Maxima

This was very easy to install once I figured out how to flex my body under the handlebars and where to put a flashlight so I could see what I was doing. He struck straight away. I recommend installing with the car running as the brake needs to be fully down for easy insertion. The brake would seize up and not release far enough when the car wasn't going.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Damaged

Easy to install, doesn't feel cheap, works

A neighbor knocked on my door to let me know the brake lights were still on on my Nissan hardbody truck. I had no idea what was going on so pulled out a few fuses and they blew so I didn't have to pull battery cables which was handy. Browsed, found this spare part and ordered it. When I went to install I noticed that the old connector was falling apart and misplacing the floor. SIMPLY installed, put fuses back in, bulbs lit and went out.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Captain: The catalyst is nothing, Captain. .

Captain: Catalyst means nothing, Captain Mal: Nothing until you have it. Then it seems that everything. That's how I felt during the week. A piece of rubber hardened from an old truck broke and fell out. My brake lights were on all the time, so I disconnect the battery every time I park for a week. I received this part quicker than expected (thanks!) and exchanged it in just 5 seconds. Now my spaceship is functional again and my crew can return.

  • New
Cons
  • Modern

Cheaper, simpler, more permanent alternative

About three years ago I had a brake light problem on my 2000 Nissan Xterra after it had driven 310,000 miles. I didn't know at the time that a replacement fork was sold, so I came up with my own solution. I happened to spot some nylon snaps that I have in stock. One of my cars has a plastic skid plate under the engine that needs to be removed at every oil change. It is held in place with plastic clips. I chose the largest I had, cut it to about Β½ inch with wire cutters, and taped it in place. I
