NiteRider 5080 Cherrybomb 35 Taillight Review

I had a similar model for a few years and it's great. So it was basically a ransom. The new light has a different switch that is almost impossible to control due to the excessive pressure required. One of the two required AA batteries keeps slipping out of the holder no matter what you do with the metal clips. Too bad the manufacturer ruined a great thing. It will be returned.

My favorite bike rear light! I bought it five years ago and now my boyfriend wants it. A great option for these lights is that if your strap breaks after five years you can buy a new strap without having to buy a whole new bulb as the light will still work great! I had to buy a new strap when my friend "borrowed" mine and pulled the strap too hard. So I bought a new one and a replacement band for it.

I like the light (4 stars) but the mounting bracket (2 stars) has very limited mounting options. What bothers me is that the lamp cannot be mounted horizontally with the bracket supplied, i.e. only VERTICALLY. The mounting strap only fits the seatpost, so you cannot mount it on smaller diameter frame stays. The rest of the light is bright, with 4 modes of operation. 2 flashing modes bright or dim, 2 permanent "ON" modes bright or dim. Another annoyance. You must go through all modes to return…

I have used this tail light in a variety of locations, weather and conditions. Last year during Covid-19 I rode cross country and used the Planet Bike tail light but when it rained it didn't work and as I traversed Mount Hood in Oregon and the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho the Planet Bike light disappeared . . When I got to Jackson, Wyoming I decided to buy Cherry Nitride from a local store and it worked and still works from Maine to New York. I would highly recommend this flashlight to anyone…

Ordered on May 11th but only received on 06/04/2020. Why did it take longer than 3 weeks? Otherwise, NR bike lights are top notch. The best brand for bike lights. Although it works well, it is not durable. Expect it to last about a year due to the rain. I think Niterider batteries are more prone to water damage due to the delicate circuit boards inside the device. The design of the batteries does not protect them well from water.
