Nordic Ware Stovetop Backsplash Griddle in Sleek Black: A Perfect Kitchen Companion Review

Bought this to use with a 2 burner Nexgrill portable grill. I can remove the grate from the grill and place this pan on the burner manifold plates. Fits perfectly. The raised sides of the pan are awesome. I tilted the grill back slightly and cooked ten scrambled eggs at once. I also cooked a pound of bacon. As another review notes, the fat slide can't hold that much fat at once. I just rolled up a paper towel and soaked up the fat from time to time while cooking.

I was looking for a larger pan for pancakes. I bought it because the rear guard and fat chute design caught my attention. The size is comfortable. It's easy to make four pancakes at once. If you have a gas range like mine with a "high cook" burner in the center, the center grill will get hotter. Placing food the same distance from the center will cook it more evenly. This probably works best if you can place it over two burners. I've used it twice for pancakes and found it easy to clean.

This is my third Nordic Ware baking pan - the first two lasted about two years of daily use. Since it is made of die-cast aluminum, the price is a bit high. Due to the metal composition, these pans wear out quicker than other pans I've had. High temperatures and/or the use of metal utensils can damage the pan's non-stick coating and lead to faster failure. I like this pan because it only covers a stovetop.
