Our family loves to eat crab. They are ideal for melting butter while eating and keeping it in perfect condition. We had bought an earlier set from Crate and Barrel which we shared among households. So when we wanted to make a full set of Crate and Barrel, they were out of stock. I was so happy to find some here. They are slightly different from the previous set, but at first glance you will not notice any minor differences. We will be ordering more as we plan more seafood dinners.

Was used to feed crab and the oil tray jumped out of the burner. The oil exploded all over the table. It was awkward. I thought it was an accident because the other one didn't explode. So I cleaned everything and put more oil in. It didn't boil or anything and it exploded again! Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I have many versions of these oil heaters but this is the worst. So embarrassed and there was oil on my clothes. I still can't explain what happened.

Pros: Most heating pads sold today will NOT fit a standard sized tealight so be careful. This one does. You will never find smaller refills. Cons: With plenty of room for an easily accessible standard tealight, it slides freely on the platform provided, which is great for adults but can pose a problem for any children around the table. They don't "snap" like old heating pads. In addition, I give them an excellent rating and I am happy to find them.

They are very stable and look elegant on the table, no ugly metal frame. Works perfect. My favorite feature is that the top folds onto the bottom for small storage. I kept the box and foam shipping wrap and store them with only 3 x 4 x 6 inches of closet space. They're heavy enough not to fly in the dishwasher. I've been using them for almost 2 years and have no complaints. I feel sorry for the people who spend so much on seafood delicacies and then suffer without warm oil.

Five stars for concept, one star for manufacturing defects(?). The bases on which the candles are held crack. Never leave them unattended and if you hear a loud noise, it means the base is collapsing. I'll look for some cement glue to hold them in place as I still think the construction is workable.
