Great hood, great fit.

The hood is excellent but bulky. What I particularly like about this lens hood is the retractable grinding lens. So I don't have to take off my hood, put on a protective mask and constantly switch back and forth.

Pros
  • Working without hands
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

It's nothing but a pipeline. But it works.

I thought it was like a duct but with a flat bottom instead of a curved part that cuts your throat every time you lower the hood. no It's just plastic. Went with a piping with a Selstrom Tiger Hood instead.

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Empty

Suitable for ADF on welding helmets

Everything was as expected except the size of the flap. Minus 1 star because I had to grind a gap on the side to fit the 4x2 solar panel. Also, the corners cover the sensors a bit, which sometimes resulted in a flash. I also had to change that with loops.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

Hard Hat - Head Protection

I am a professional welder and this is my hood. It's nice not to need another hood just to sand down the stain and then replace again. Many times I've just lifted my hood instead of turning it into a see-through shield (like you should) and sanding, but that's really not safe. I don't do it with that.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Great cheap hood: welding helmets

I bought this hood as a hat for nasty places where I don't need my good hood. Nice, light and does the job perfectly. The only thing that doesn't freak me out is the smaller view. With the Lincoln hood I'm used to a lot more visibility. But it definitely works, and the ease of flipping it over so I can knock the slag off and grind without replacement is AMAZING! I will soon be buying an auto-darkening lens that can completely replace my other $300 lens hood.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • something different

Union Ironworker - This range hood is quite decent for the price. The included lens has a standard tint of 10, which works well with 1/8 and 5/32 sticks. I didn't burn any wires on this hood and I immediately added a 2x4 auto dimming which I really like too. My only issue with this hood is the plastic hardware that secures the headgear to the hood. This prevents you from tightening it so tightly that it doesn't fall on your face when you need it to stay up. I bought some third party aluminum…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
