Out of balance. Returned immediately on credit.

The stone was severely unbalanced right out of the box. This makes him dangerous in many ways. Returned immediately on credit.

Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Good quality but not made in America

Received in perfect condition. The edge was true and there was no hesitation. The only thing that disappointed me was that I thought it was made in America, but it turned out to be made in Mexico.

Great with some work.

Great handlebars, but it goes round at first. But after taking a piece of 1" OD aluminum round bar, clamp it on a lathe and bore it to 5/8" OD. Put it in place of the blue spacers and hitting will be minimal. After a proper start, the wheel wears out, but cuts with a sharp movement. I propose a dresser of diamond circle. Good for high strength steel and will cut C2 carbide but not effectively. I mainly use it for turning and sharpening drill bits.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Only available in white

This item will rock from side to side

This grinding wheel will not work properly. I bought the fine and coarse circles to replace the factory circles on my new Ricon grinder. The rough wheel moved correctly, but this wheel wobbled from side to side. It was wrong by 1/8 inch. Unfortunately I thought I could adapt it and as I was involved in other projects in the garage I put it off until it was too late to go back. I'm stupid, but shame on you Norton. You used to be the best supplier of abrasives, but your quality control has…

I wasn't very happy with Norton

I used good quality wheels with amazing spacers that actually filled the whole thing and the adapters fit together like a mould. My main reason for returning was damaged packaging which we all know doesn't offer much security. However, I had a chance to test before requesting a replacement and for my purposes it was nowhere near a quality bike. The gears didn't mesh well and it looked like they were designed for a 1/2" grinding wheel. The rest of the stone was also treated a few times before it

Note that this may require some serious machining and wheel alignment!

Wheel arrived today 23rd February 2017 Ring ok checked looked clean of chips etc Handlebars fitted top spark arrestor fitted and everything else 1/8" from the wheel. Rotate the wheel by hand, the wheel jams 2/3 turn. Reset the spark arrestor and allow it to rotate by hand so that the gap between the surface of the wheel and the stop has increased from 1/8 changed to 1/4 ". I've cleaned the wheel twice to fix it and I'm not done yet. When I'm done I'll measure the diameter and post it here. I…

Good enough for my needs; poorly balanced

This wheel is good enough for my needs (sharpening mower blades and grinding weird car parts) but other reviews mention the wheel is missing round or is unbalanced at something. I installed this Norton wheel on my Delta bench grinder in place of the original 20 year old wheel. The old wheel was less than half worn compared to the new one. As I was literally 11 years old when I bought this grinder new, I can't exactly remember if my grinder was vibrating and "running" that much, but I'm a little

Grinding in mechanical and hand tools

I should have listened to other reviews of these grinding wheels, the plastic bushings in the packaging are JOKE. I bought some 1" x 1/2" nylon bushings and then spent almost an hour getting this wheel to spin properly. Looking at it, I noticed a paper sticker on both sides of the wheel from 60,000 to 30,000 on a side. For others, the stickers can be easily removed once they are wet. Now I could get it to work, the next problem is that they are shaped like an egg. I took a diamond wheel dresser

This Norton wheel is strong outside the circle

After installing this wheel on my 5/8 inch mandrel sander and turning on the sander, my entire desk was shaking violently and things were falling to the ground. I immediately turned off the grinder and upon closer inspection found that the grinding wheel was 1/8-3/16 inch out of round, causing severe shaking. I removed the grinding wheel and checked that the bushing was there and they were such that the grinding wheel itself is not round and will never work properly. I also see myself rocking…
