🔑 Unlock Smooth Steering with NRG Innovations SRK 160H Hub Adapter Review

I use this adapter without a quick release on Miata na. This adapter works great with my Miata NRG steering wheel but I had to make some minor modifications. I had to cut the wiring harness from the horn/airbag and cut some plastic from the steering column bezel. Looks great and works great.

I'm not sure I got a broken one. It was delivered a few days ago, the wheel only arrived today so I removed everything and found that one of the holes was slightly off. I took a closer look and it sagged a bit at the 5 o'clock position. Small scratches around, most noticeable when photographed. I was under the impression that this would also come with 6 bolts, but not the steering wheel or hub.

Poor technique but still well done. The splines don't line up to form a perfect top center to the steering wheel. One notch and your 1 degree to the left. Proceed to the next notch or spline and you will turn 3 degrees to the right. I've tried 5 times to fix it but to no avail. Poorly designed for the upper middle. My factory wheel was perfectly true so I know it's that hub. 2 stars are still too many.

Easy to install Had to remove the gold contact plate and white plastic ring inside to install it properly on my '94 Miata Maybe it's just the wires bumping into something, maybe it is too tight on the clock spring *shrugs* There is a piece of plastic on the clock spring that is sticking out, I had to cut/break it off a bit to make room for the hub to fit the rest of the assembly snugly.

I have two now. One in my miata and one in my rx7. I like her. I like that they have a lower profile than most. However, I haven't been able to get the horn to work in any of them, so be aware you may encounter this when purchasing. Also, the included screws loosen over time and I would recommend using low strength Loctite to prevent them from loosening. The overall build quality is excellent, beautifully machined aluminum finish, well painted and durable.

If you are trying to install this on a Miata NA it will not fit correctly you will need to machine it to fit. NRG should have made it specifically for the Miata NA. It doesn't fit because 1. It's too short, if you want to install a flat wheel, the steering will interfere with the light and wiper switches, you need to add a spacer2.
