NVIDIA SHIELD Remote Control Review

Bought because the previous remote was too frustrating to use and the game controls weren't very convenient. It exceeded my expectations, easy to connect to my old NVIDIA shield, love the backlight and extra buttons (on/off) and Netflix buttons. My 4 year old already knows how to use it. Bought a case for protection.

This remote probably has its merits, but the volume control is disappointing. On a standard remote, the volume control is a large slider in the middle, where your thumb would normally be. In my case it wasn't always responsive, but when it worked it was great. On the new remote it's just two buttons, which landed somewhere between the voice search buttons and the Netflix buttons - an arrangement that doesn't make sense to me and I can't find them by touch.

Ordered an optional remote control. I didn't know if there were copycat consoles on the market. Firstly when I tried to open the battery cover there is no small button that releases the back cover. This immediately alerted me and made me believe it was fake. Then only to find at night that some of the buttons are only half lit at night. To top it off. When I turn up the volume.
