Dip the tip! on Soldering Flux

Nobody likes to solder with a blunt tip. But if you dip the tip in here every now and then for 5 seconds, it improves your work enormously. Many reviews of this product mention that there are no instructions for use - that's true. So just dip the hot tip into this mixture for about 3-5 seconds. Be careful with chemicals of any kind (safety).

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • A little change

Excellent product, reliable and trustworthy

Excellent flux paste. As an experiment, I drew it on a piece of hot copper, and it immediately puddles. Copper water connections withstand this product very well. If the pipe connections are already tinned, I use a regular flux from the same company. This is a reliable product. I made the mistake of trying the cheaper option and paid a disappointing price for having to redo the joint.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...

Works well in solder and flux

This tinned flux works well but every container I've ever used inexplicably becomes useless junk after about 14 months. It works fine one day, after a week or so it starts to discolor and turns into a weird dry brownish sludge over the next few weeks. There is no expiration date on the containers and no indication of "open life" so I have no idea what the issue is. It is also one of the best tinning fluxes available.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Minor issues

Received a tube no. 53019, no pot/jug

Received a tube with a brush. Hope it's the same. The flux is zinc chloride. I prefer a flat tray so you can make sure it's mixed. The tube must be squeezed. We'll see how it goes.** Updated November 23, 2020 The tube is torture royal. Difficult to get the right amount out of a rigid plastic tube. The paste is dense and thick, so I ended up squeezing it out with pliers. i will cut it I need more so I'm hoping my next order will be a tray/glass

  • Weight

  • Negative impression

The best material for lead-free tube soldering!

This is what you need for plumbing brazing especially if you are new to the business. The flux contains silver particles that can help fill in small gaps if you are not making a perfect solder. Used this several times with zero leaks, zero problems. The only thing that confuses me is that the material is a bit stiff right out of the can until it warms up a bit. Applying with a brush can be tricky due to the density, but I think it's worth the small compromise.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak
