required for vintage bike

Attempt to use Cantis on a vintage bike. Currently there are two lengths of retractable cords, which may not suit all applications. Had to fill in the side to fit an old Canty brake without drilling the brake tread. Maybe not for what it's made for, but works reliably

Pros
  • Quality finish
Cons
  • Has imperfections

Worked perfectly, so easy!

I needed one of these to fit a replacement brake cable to an old bike. The old part is rusty. I tried some things from the hardware store that didn't work. The REI guy didn't help. It was very easy and worked perfectly. My winter bike is back in action.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

Great for vintage Raleigh calipers

That's all you need if you want new brake cables for a vintage Raleigh caliper. For those who don't know, up until the '70s Raleigh brakes used fixed length cables with metal spikes on each end that hooked onto the lever and caliper. The cables were not screwed to the caliper. They were extremely strong, but it's impossible to find a replacement these days. The cables don't last forever though so I was advised to get one for my 1958 Raleigh Sports and they work great. A bit fiddly to set up but
