This compact pencil sharpener runs on 4 AA batteries or a USB power cord that plugs into an outlet. Now this power cord comes in handy as it can run on electricity or you can plug the USB end into a USB hub. In addition to 3 types of power sources, there are 3 types of grinding tips.
