As a nocturnal reptile breeder I wanted something that would generate heat without the need for light. They ensure excellent heat dissipation. Hard to comment on durability as I've only had them a week, but I assume they're fine.

worked great right out of the box, however one failed/burned out after less than 5 hours of use. Didn't bang or shake or move or anything, just noticed the temperature dropped, checked and it turned itself off when I took it out, it made a little rattle that could be heard like a normal blown bulb.

I was a bit skeptical as there weren't any reviews for it but I'm glad I gave it a try! That took me about 2 months, with other pears almost 3 weeks. I use this every day at 12pm at night. My 30g terrarium maintains a constant temperature of 72-74 degrees in Florida. It doesn't emit any light, which is perfect for night lovers.

I have been using this type of heater for several years to supplement heat for cattle troughs. I've used heating pads before but a drop of water on them could cause them to crack. These ceramic heating bulbs can easily withstand dripping water. I use a winter or two from an onion. The braid they are inserted into often corrodes in the summer, a common cause of breakage.

I tried several times to contact the seller because one of the bulbs in the package did not work at all and he did not answer. I'm trying to get Revane to move forward. I would like at least a partial refund. The bulbs have a very variable heat and should not be used with thermostats - which is why the first bulb in the pack stopped working and actually ruined my fixture. I am so disappointed that in the future I will pay more for a well known brand with better customer service and warranty.

Purchased a 150 watt heat lamp for my daughter's pet hermit crab. We only tried one of the two lamps and it gets hot! In fact, my daughter accidentally burned the melamine surface of her desk.
