Great replacement for rocker cover gasket kits

Worked well on my 94 YJ Jeep 2.5L. I didn't use rtv. The screws held it in place while I installed it. Remember to only tighten them to about 40 ft. lbs.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Not as thick as other kits

Good fit for my 97 TJ

I installed this on my Jeep Wrangler 97 2.5L while doing other engine work. The seal serves its purpose and is not too difficult to install. It's definitely not as good as the stiffer/thicker Fel Pro Pad, but it's half the price so can't really complain. In general very satisfied.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Some issues

It worked, but wasn't cast perfectly.

The seal performed as expected and ended up not leaking. However, I doubted this for a long time before installing it. It comes crumpled up in a bag first, you need to put it on a flat surface and flatten it again. There are a couple of spots where the gasket is pushed out of the mold, resulting in some imperfections. Ultimately, it doesn't look like it's leaking, so I think it's ok.

A great block for solving a problem at an affordable price

Surprisingly good block at a fraction of the cost of better brand versions. My customer wanted to save money but refresh the engine with new gaskets to reduce the leaks from the old engine. I put a lot of different gaskets on this jeep so I'm drawing a blank for the material, I can't remember if it was paper or rubber, I'm pretty sure it was rubber. But the most important thing is if it works and yes it has been working for 6 months now and not leaking.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • So far so good

Waste of money - too weak

It was a waste of money. We ended up just throwing it away and buying a better quality and more expensive one from the local auto parts store. It is of poor quality and poorly made. It's very, very thin and doesn't sit flush. It kept twisting and turning and wouldn't stay in place when installed. Extremely difficult installation - several attempts were made and even then there was no good seal and no oil leakage (preventing the engine from working properly). You get what you pay for. There's a…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not sure

Caused a worse oil leak than the original.

I had my Jeep in the shop and the mechanic told me they were waiting for a valve cover gasket to get me ready. I wanted to replace the valve cover gasket myself, but I had other things to do. I took this valve cover gasket to my mechanic to get me out the door. The mechanic installed it and tested my jeep to verify everything. Unfortunately, this seal failed and oil leaked from the valve cover. The store had to order another to send me on my way. If the PRO couldn't get it to work, I'm…

ALMOST perfect for a 1995 YJ 2.5L

I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ 2.5L. The gasket fits almost perfectly. In some places the gasket contour does not match the valve cover contour. (Especially up front, which is good because if there's an oil leak, it's easy to see). But 90 percent of the poetry is accurate. I attached the gasket to the valve cover with a very thin layer of RTV and let it sit overnight. This way the seal will not move when the cap is replaced. So far, so good. There are no oil leaks. It's only been a week, so if…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Too flimsy and clumsy to install.

Used an RTV to seal the valve cover on my 1991 YJ 2.5L Jeep many years ago. Worked fantastic, but I decided I should "get it right" this time and get a block. Spent a lot of time playing around with this thing to figure it out. These are technically the correct dimensions, but I had to cut parts to line them up, and then parts of it would slide into the valve cover every time I tried to install them. My one day project turned into a two day project. I'll probably give it up and come back to RTV

  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
