My cats have learned to unzip zips from the inside and climb out a few times. I then used twisty zippers and finally a quick release buckle to secure the zippers. However, a cat escaped and chewed through the fabric next to the zipper. This is a good product and my cats liked it but they need supervision when using it. Well made, accommodates two adult cats. Not sure I would let them do it but it is very safe and great for my three cats. It provides shade and the mesh inserts let air through. I feel my cats are safe in this enclosure. You can see birds and have a rest and be outside without running away. What I was looking for was a safe cat enclosure and it was very difficult to find. I took my cats from Oregon to Texas. I wanted them to be able to move and stand when needed and finally I didn't want them to feel uncomfortable when they need a tray. The bottom isn't strong so I added a cardboard cutout of the same size to reinforce the bottom. It was enough for two burly cats when transported out of the car etc. The privacy screens were good and I think they helped my cats feel more secure and it fit my back seat (Prius) perfectly.
