O'Neill Reactor Hybrid Kids Wetsuit: Neoprene/Lycra Shorty for Swim, Surf, and Snorkel Review

The zip broke on first use. I have contacted the company with questions in the past and they have been helpful so I will contact them again to see how they can help in this situation. Also, it is ideal for children in swimming lessons as the arms are made of swimsuit material, allowing the children to move freely. If the zipper hadn't broken it would have been 5 stars.

Really good quality suit. My son loves this. He uses it for swimming and playing in the pool and it keeps him warm. We rinse it well with tap water every time he uses it and so far it has kept its color (used about 12 times). We bought a size 4 (not youth size 4), our son is about 38 pounds, almost 41 inches tall and we feel he has some room to grow (at least 1 inch, maybe 2 inches).

I was looking for a swimsuit to help my 3.5 year old learn to swim in our local JCC's cool pool. The Hybrid O'Neill Reactor did a great job. It helps my son deal with cold pool water and allows him to get through a 1 hour swim session without bruising lips or chattering teeth. I would recommend it to any parent who has a child in swimming lessons. The trainer told me that the pool is 78 degrees. but my son was still too cold.

Bought for my 8 year old for team swimming training. He is an excellent swimmer, but he has no fat and cannot withstand pool temperatures below 30 degrees for more than 15 minutes. He has now used this wetsuit for a full week of training and can easily train for 60 minutes in a cold pool. He says he feels warm from start to finish. Tried 2 other small wetsuits for my daughter and both fit horribly, one was right down the neck but too big in everything else, the other was fine except for the upper body so there was no seal to prevent water ingress. This one was more expensive than the other two suits so I put off buying it. Perfect fit for my 8 year old so he can swim without getting cold. With little body fat, he was always shaking and uncomfortable, but it was the perfect weight to keep him warm without restricting his movements. My only issue was that the neck seam started to unravel after just 1 month of use and the zipper at the base didn't have a stopper meaning I have to pull it through every time.
