If you want to feel safe, get this.

If you want to feel safe, get this lock and chain! I bought it after my bike was stolen and now I have peace of mind. They even guarantee the safety of your bike by insuring it themselves.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Unsafe

Received a defective item.

I contacted the manufacturer who confirmed that the chain was indeed defective (the chain was nicked/cut near the lock and in several other places). Now it looks like I'll have to wait about a week to get a replacement.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Get comfortable with this protection for your bike

Hey this thing weighs almost the same as my Fuji hybrid bike but I keep my bike attached to a 4x6 support post on a covered patio outside and this monster is just scary to look at let alone trying to break through. If I'm a bike thief looking for a quick fix, I'll probably look elsewhere.

Pros
  • It's awesome
Cons
  • Functionality

Too heavy to use as a bike lock

I ordered a used/nearly new lock from Revain Wearhouse. I believe the lock that came with the chain was wrong because it was too big to fit through the chain link that had to be passed through to lock. I sent it back. Otherwise if it works then I think it would be a good lock. I think it was too heavy to use as a bike lock but it was well made.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Heavier than it looks - a reliable performer.

Chain and lock are heavier than they look. I was concerned about where I would put the chain while cycling. On my first try, I wrapped it twice around the seatpost. Again and again he fell on the moving tire. Then I tried to wrap it a third time. It was challenging, but now I understand it scientifically. I feel better knowing I can leave my bike outside when locked with the Onguard Beast.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Fits

pretty solid

People say please not heavy. This thing is a chain beast. I didn't expect it to be so massive and heavy. It hurts to carry around. I usually carry a second backpack just for the chain and lock. The picture can be deceiving. Be sure to check the measurement. The chain is long enough to secure the wheel and frame. The castle is also huge and elegant. Sometimes when I turn the key to open, the lock doesn't open immediately. The metal case also wobbles a bit and has to be tightened with screwsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • New

Very good quality chain

This chain is amazing. It's a little longer than it looks in the picture. It has some weight, but I don't think it weighs more than 10 pounds. It slipped off the middle of my bars while cycling, but I caught it before it fell off and let it hang off the end of my right bar and I was fine. It's definitely not too big to ride, at least not for a mountain bike. I love the fact that the width of the chain links is almost the diameter of my bike frame. I didn't really know how massive it was until I

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
