A cork/air squeegee is better than a spiral puller.

This system works very well. Some corks are more difficult to insert a pin than others, but the cork will lift as advertised. The aerator helps to bring out the full flavor of the wine, regardless of the vintage. The cork is great too and if pumped enough it also easily pops the cork out of the neck of the bottle - otherwise it takes little effort to loosen. The cutter lost a small pin the first time it was used and didn't work that well. After replacing the pin, full performance was restored…

Works with some bottles

Nice presentation with a quality velor drawstring pouch for storage. However, the first bottle I tried this on didn't work because it had a lip at the top that kept the opener's plastic sleeve from sliding down. The needle is blocked. Once it shifted I was able to open another bottle but the plastic wrap still felt like it could break easily. Basically, the opener is easy to use and works, but only on certain types of bottles and it doesn't seem strong enough to last long.

  • Expensive but decent

  • Not bad but...

Wine Lover's Tool Box

I bought it as a gift for my mother-in-law who drinks wine like water. The packaging made it expensive. I liked the flap that could be closed with velcro and opened to reveal the contents. Speaking of which, it comes with 5 pieces! An absolute bargain for the price! I didn't think she would actually use an aerator, but it makes a difference! The foil cutter, which prevents the foil from being punctured or cut after opening, is also practical. Using the opener was difficult at first, but once…
