Had to be modified for work required to complete the project. 3. Picture shows item with insert, insert not included. There is an insert on the 1st and 2nd picture in the product. The item received was ONLY the top item in the 3rd picture. Have used Origin8 for many applications, the first problem faced by the product and advertising.

Very good part. I was surprised that with this adapter and modern stems/bars the bike was stiffer in the front than with the original stock stem. I got this to copy the fit from my modern bike and use the exact same handlebars. I recommend this to anyone looking to use a 28.6 stem with an old style threaded fork.

This product has completely transformed My Fixik. My build is very meticulous so I changed the look a bit with black paint but it was just test parts to make sure all layouts work well. This has taken my bike from a gooseneck stem with drop bars to a steep adjustable stem and MTB handlebars which are much better for a solid imo. I had to buy gaskets and anti-seize parts but I am 100,000% satisfied with this adapter.

I was a little suspicious of this tip adapter that was part of an old road bike handlebar upgrade. The new handlebars needed a modern stem which in turn needed this stem adapter to fit my old bike. While the whole setup looks less elegant than the old rods and old quill rod, I am pleasantly surprised at the performance: the new rig actually feels stiffer, stiffer, more durable and more responsive than the old quill rod setup. That and the new rods are much nicer for my old hands!

I bought this needle thinking it would fit a standard 7/8" fork so I could use my new stem. After receiving them I quickly went home to install them but found that they didn't fit! Measured it measures 0.872 (in thousands of inches) My SE chassis fork measures 0.843 The 0.029 difference is almost 32 inches more! Edit and process it but what about the people who order it and think it fits but it doesn't "So I decided to email ORIGIN 8 about this for a solution. I will update later.

As advertised. I took the size from 22.2 / 25.4 to 28.6, thinking that there is an adaptive sleeve. I couldn't tell for sure from the description, although the image will change to show the sleeve or not when different options are selected. I just didn't realize it when I swapped pictures. The slipping sleeve isn't needed now, but I can always use it on another bike later. Flipping through the Origin 8 catalogue, these guys seem to really know what products customers want. All parts of it are outsourced which reduces the cost for the customer which is very important as these parts are usually aimed at a younger audience.
