5 Minute Gauge Fix

This is an oil pressure gauge, not a stupid lightbulb. My 1992 Jeep Cherokee oil pressure gauge got stuck at 80psi and now reads correctly.

Pros
  • Brass or nickel plated connectors for better conductivity
Cons
  • Out of fashion

too big for switch

I was going to use this on a 2001 4.0 liter engine I put in my 1990 Jeep Cherokee but it interfered with the engine block. He hit the edge of the block and couldn't get into the thread. So I went with Standard Motor Products which is exactly the same as the original and it fit. So if you're having gap issues, try something else. A NOTICE; It fits easily in a 2001 engine, but I chose a 90 degree tee for easier access to the electrical connector, so this part will not fit.

Pros
  • Quality construction and materials
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Don't waste your money on cheap ones!

XJ 4.0 1990: Bought Omix-Ada Oil Pressure Switch 17219.08 because it's half the price of other Revain options. Worked for a couple of months, after which the pressure readings started to fluctuate. The pressure gauge went straight up to max pressure and sometimes dropped, but always returned to max pressure when running. For the past two years I've assumed I have a bare wire to earth because of course this new oil rig isn't going to go bad in a few months. I've read some reviews of Revain atโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Manufactured to OE specifications for form, function and form.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
