A little dielectric grease helps remove

According to DanQ, Anderson Powerpole Connector assembly instructions are great for this quick connection. I used a Hobart 770122 Lug Crimper to crimp the contacts. After connecting the two ends of the connector, I could not remove/disconnect them by pulling on the plastic ends. I had to pull the cables to disconnect them. I added some dielectric grease to the pins and it made stripping easier. I'm using this on a 13.8V 50A power supply with 6 AWG wires. I keep a tube of dielectric grease with…

Worked well after installation

Quality and price are good. It didn't come with instructions, so I googled "Andersen connectors" and found some YouTube videos showing how to properly insert the ends into the plastic housing. It took a lot of heat for my propane torch to solder the 6 gauge wire to the designated ends. I burned the insulation off the end of the cable by heating the copper to drain the solder. I used heat shrink tubing once the soldering was cold to cover the burnt/melted area so it didn't look like a hack I…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Clarity

These connectors are rated for 6 AWG wire and 50 amps and I believe they will work well enough for most people. I had one of the Anderson products. Also, they will not connect to Anderson due to the plastic bridge between the two pins. Cutting the jumper between the bodies of the contacts allows them to connect to the Anderson part. As with most of these clone connectors, some modifications have been made, probably to avoid patent infringement. The pins are heavy, but not as heavy as the…

Heavy Duty/High Quality Power Plugs

I bought these with 6/8 and 0/2 gauge wires. I turn off the main RV battery breaker) and the smaller ones for backup power (without starting the generator). / 120V AC input. I use a propane torch to "solder" the pins - and make sure you have a larger quality heat shrink tubing to hide the solder joints. Finally - there are small holes in the middle of the connectors - so passing a cable/cable tie through means you have a "permanent" vibration-resistant connection.

Great for this purpose but no guidance

Reliable and offers a clean, fast connection. I moved my battery to the front of my small boat for better weight distribution and to switch between an electric trolling motor and an electric start gas motor. I installed a battery extension at the back of the boat, one at the stern. The cable from each of my motors has one of these at the end. With the gas engine connected, I start the engine and drive to the fishing spot. Quick toggle and I troll for a few hours. Another switch and I'm off to a

Great winch setup upgrade

This decoupling kit made my winch setup look as professional and functional as I could have imagined. The crimp contacts were perfectly sized for stranded #6 wire, and with a little attention to wire polarity and the help of some medium-sized needle nose pliers, the contacts fit right into the housings with no drama, hate, or resentment. I crimped the contacts with a hydraulic crimping tool first with a #4 die and then with a #6 die. You can easily attach the trunk connectors after the pins are

Time will tell: Winch Accessory

Good fit and covers are a nice plus. The only disappointment is the mounting hole. It's small (less than 3/16) and only one. I hope I can drill the existing hole and add a second one. I'm going to install a winch on the bumper of a pickup truck or trailer hitch. If it's flush mounted the cover won't work either so a gasket is needed. Also, it's a quality part that should work well for my application. Update: After reading other reviews and seeing product photos, I don't think I received the…

RESEARCH ASSEMBLY ONLINE

Yes, as many reviews say, there are no instructions. However, they are identical to Anderson Powerpole connectors whose assembly instructions are easily found online. If a particular buyer can't figure it out, that doesn't make the product bad. In short, each contact has a convex side and a flat side with a pronounced step. This step should snap the metal spring built into the fork. Insert the flat side so that it touches the spring; it will click and you will understand that it was assembled…
