Shocked how good the display is for the price

I wasn't expecting much and honestly didn't need much for the project I bought it for. I don't often post product reviews, but I have to say how pleasantly surprised I am with the image quality and build quality at this price point. The display is surprisingly sharp and honestly it's a bit too much for what I use it for haha. but I also appreciate her shiny bevel in the face. It will look nice once I have time to create the body for this project. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is…

Pros
  • Free support for Raspbain drives, Ubuntu MATE, Kali, RetroPie, OpenElec, OSMC, Kodi, Arch Windows 10 IOT system and so on. This diskless monitor was developed by DSI for signal and data transmission. No additional power supply required for the touch screen. No software or software support required. You just need to connect the DSI cable to the screen and the Raspberry Pi's DSI port. No jumpers required then power on the raspberry pi device creating the OS.
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Good price my frame is misaligned

I wanted to give a good review and for the most part it deserved it. I'm not sure if I just have one error or if they're all the same, but my faceplate is misaligned. I thought I could live with that, but I'm noticing it more and more. What this display gets right: The price is great for a screen that plugs directly into your Pi. No clunky HDMI adapters. The touch screen function works well. correct fastening material. My only issue is the bezel cutting off the left side of my display. Again…

The cable is NOT STANDARD. Here's how to create your own.

I've plugged the display into the Raven printer and it seems to be working fine so far. There's a case for it on the Dingieverse. Good: DSI interface, so that power and data are transmitted via the ribbon cable (no extra HDMI cable etc.) Bad: The ribbon cable is NOT swapped at one end like all standard Raspberry PI cables. That means you have to buy an extension cord from the supplier if you need it (if they have it in stock, etc.). Or make your own. Here's how: - Buy another ribbon cable…

  • Satisfied so far

  • Ease of maintenance
