OTC 4507 Bearing Race Driver Review

This time I didn't want to use the 2x4 pin and bushings, this kit made it easy and now I know for sure I didn't damage the seal or the rails. The rims are soft aluminum and only one rim was too big for my indoor race, but since the rim is softer than race there was no damage. Saved me time, it was worth it.

I have used this mainly for driving seals. I haven't had any issues with seal damage and the different sizes make this kit very versatile. I used to drive seals with a socket and they broke. This kit changes all that!

This is my second set of OTC bearing ring seal removers. I use them a lot and they last longer than most other brands and being aluminum they don't damage bearings, rings or seals. If you buy this set you will not be disappointed! My first OTC set lasted over 2 years with daily use. I bought it from a tool cart so I paid twice as much. Revain is what you need! Hope that helps.

Really good drivetrain seal/bearing kit. Used it this weekend to replace seals and bearing rings on my Polaris ATV. I would give 5/5 but my only concern is the durability of the driver shaft. It's a little dented from being hit with a hammer. For my home use I don't think it will ever break, but if you use it every day it could become a problem in the long run. Otherwise it is very nice, well made and comes in a nice case. The average user will probably have enough of this for a lifetime.

Very good kit - I used it on the day it arrived to fit a gasket kit to the rear axles of my '66 Ford F100. Unfortunately it was delivered without the largest driver and I had to call OTC to have a new one sent. OTC was quick to respond, the support I spoke to was helpful and the replacement part is ready. If it was a complete set I would give 5 stars. If the support wasn't so competent and helpful, I would have given 1 star :)

I drove a bearing ring with this set, literally destroyed both the handle and the cup. On the other hand, both the handle and the cup are made of aluminum, while the ring and hammer are made of hardened steel. I really don't understand how this can work when everything is aluminum. Maybe for small races like trailer or small car bearings, but then why need cups for big bearings like 1 ton trucks? As for installing gaskets, the 2"x4" piece works just as well as these. Maybe I expected too much…

One of the discs I received in the kit was not processed properly. I bought a kit to make it easier to install new front axle bearings on my Toyota pickup. I needed two rim sizes: 1.965" and 2.555". I checked the fit by aligning the shims with the bearing races, but the 2.555" shim was against the edge of the raceway of the ring and not flush with the surface/rim. The 1.965 inch disc fitted perfectly. I emailed OTC/Bosch Tech Support and they responded quickly (kudos to OTC for that) but…
