works with N64 in AV accessories

Works great. Required to connect my Nintendo 64 to a 2016 TV without an AV input. Just make sure you have an HDMI to TV adapter cable. Good picture of N64.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Everything great

You get what you pay for.

Pros: small, inexpensive Cons: needs power from USB, didn't hold signal (I used Firestick), seems very unstable. Result: The product was returned and replaced with a more expensive device that does not require USB power. So far very satisfied

Pros
  • Certified by GOLS
Cons
  • Operating speed

Great for PAL and NTSC

Manual says no external power required but it comes with a USB cable for it so that's a plus as it uses an older USB port. The picture quality was great, I've used it to play PAL consoles on my HDTV and it does the job perfectly.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Try it: Audio and Video Accessories

Pretty good in some ways. VHS on TV is very good. I have it for retro gaming, Sega, Nintendo on a modern TV and if you have a TV set up for gaming, correct aspect ratio etc it takes some of the blur out. Not great, but not bad for the price either. You can spend anywhere from $2 to $400 on other devices.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Damaged

They work well and are inexpensive.

Bought two of these to connect an old VCR and Laserdisc player to an AV Receiver. There are many such upscalers and they all look almost the same on the outside. However, I bought another brand first and it didn't work with my receiver, although it worked when connected directly to the TV. They work both ways and they are cheaper.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Slightly dented

I needed this temporarily

I needed this to connect my laptop's HDMI output to my old flat screen TV that doesn't have HDMI inputs. Actually yes, but in the back and the TV is on the wall so it's quite difficult to get to. There are RCA inputs on the side of the TV. So that converts the HDMI output to the RCA input. Requires USB power with included cable to connect to PC USB port. Or I had a cord that plugged into an outlet that worked. If you need to convert the HDMI output to an RCA input, this works great.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Functionality

I received this to connect a 1987 VCR to my Smart TV. Works but color is wrong. With some films the picture is too dark and I have to turn up the brightness so much that the picture looks washed out. Sometimes the brightness is right, but the color varies. Not perfect, but bearable. Before AV2HDMI, the VCR didn't work at all with my TV. Despite the image issues, I'm impressed by how this $11 box packs decades of technology together. Please note that the device is USB powered and includes a…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Pre-PS2 probably have minor screen artifacts

Well, I'll relax it a bit. The general rule seems to be that the older the system, the more likely it is to contain some artifacts. For example, the Gen 1 PS2 worked fine on a Samsung Smart TV with 2 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, a coaxial cable, and 1 set of components. The SNES seemed great, so I assumed Genesis and Saturn would do it too. I ran into a small problem with the original NES. A light green or reddish-transparent herringbone pattern appears predominantly on black canvases. So when I'm…

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • No automatic controls
