Super Sharp, Super Dangerous

This knife is very sharp and very effective. In fact, it was so sharp my friend was able to cut off about 1/6th of his thumb. Terrible experience spent all night in the hospital. Nothing left, they had to cauterize the closed wound. Good for slicing oranges and thumbs.

Strongest peeler I have ever used

This little tool is comfortable to hold and very easy to peel from the toughest skin (winter squash, rutabaga) to the thinnest (kiwi, potato) peel. I put mine in the dishwasher and it's ok. I didn't want to dry such a sharp blade by hand, I would have torn my hand off. Be careful. But it works very well and I'm glad I bought it.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Could have been a newer model

The scrub finally works.

Our butternut squash plant is out of control and won't stop producing. Now I cut them into cubes and pack them in freezer bags, but the peeling got me. With this guy, they'll be done in no time. And as some say, watch your fingers. My thumb is almost healed and I now wear metal mesh gloves when using this. It's so spicy.

Dangerously sharp! Great scrub, but be careful!

This has got to be the toughest cleaner in the world. I share this as a warning! My husband cut off part of his finger with this knife and had to cauterize the tip of the finger. After reading some of the other comments, the engineering team might want to take a look at this project. It's incredibly sharp and does the job, but oh! Be careful when using it.

OH for the victory! on kitchen and dining room

I like the OXO brand [even though I don't have arthritis/etc. have] and buy for myself and others. As you can see, it has a raised "spoke" on one side to protect your fingers (and it works pretty well). Keep in mind that this is NOT a two-sided tool designed for "right handed" (which I am). Very high quality workmanship, and the "blades are VERY SHARP" - they come with a semi uncomfortable plastic blade cover [I imagine ANYONE with "arthritis" will try to remove them let alone reinstall] - this

Works perfectly; perfect for thick-skinned squash like squash

My existing peeler is good for things like cucumbers, but definitely not good for thick-skinned veggies like squash and root vegetables like turnips. Enter this OXO scrub I bought based on the many positive reviews. As usual, Revain customers were not disappointed! He handles pumpkin skins (raw) and even the waxy skins of turnips like a boss. I'm not sure how it happened that some reviewers ended up cutting their fingers off, but if you use the tool properly, this won't happen. However, if youโ€ฆ

Hope this one works too

I love that the blade can move and wiggle around the potato. leave at work since I work in the kitchen and I don't like the ones given there at work, they are too hard and don't hold well, so I wanted to order a second one, the same as the one I have in my kitchen however it's a bit different and doesn't have that thing sticking out on top like they have now. I will be using this one at work, hope it works as well as we use cutting gloves to protect ourselves, it might be too dangerous withoutโ€ฆ

The best scrub ever.

I always read reviews. I saw that the main complaints were that the handle was too small and that the blade broke. I have small hands and have a hard time imagining how to break the blade, so I took it with me. I use it so often it almost never sits in my desk drawer. Fortunately, it's easy to clean. To answer both of those complaints, I've had several different styles of cleaners, including a Y-shaped one, and unless it's specifically designed for "easy grip," this cleaner's handle is noโ€ฆ
