Built to fail. Low quality. The center wheel is PLASTIC, NOT ceramic, and it will break after a few months of regular use! The grinding mechanism seems to be too small so the peppercorns either don't fall in properly or get stuck. I find myself banging the countertop several times to make the pepper fall out of the mechanism (for example, to put the pepper on a piece of fish, a steak, or half a glass of limas).
