Hand wash only! Best in Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

The first time I washed it I put it on the top shelf of the dishwasher as it is said to be dishwasher safe and it warped completely Has. It worked fine for the one time I used it

Pros
  • Very Good Price
Cons
  • I will add later

Works well! in the kitchen & dining room

Was pleasantly surprised! I'm good with a knife and a little skeptical that this is a huge improvement for peeling shrimp. But it really works! It takes a little practice to get faster!

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • Factor set

Shelling shrimp just got a lot easier

My mom used this thing decades ago when I was growing up. I know I buy big bags of frozen shrimp from my local Asian market. This greatly simplifies cleaning and shell removal. And I always trust Oxo.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • little things

Poor quality - special tools and equipment

Packaging was good; it somehow worked when butchering shrimp. This was my first time using a shrimp cleaner. It was about the same as using a paring knife. Washed once in the dishwasher and it warped. I tried to smooth it out but I couldn't. Works well on curved shrimp.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Expensive

Dishwasher warping - hand wash only

Works perfectly but after first use in the dishwasher was completely warped and unusable. I reported the issue to OXO and I think they will send me a replacement. You would think that after so many negative reviews about the chain, they would fix it or at least change the product information to "hand wash only".

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Only available in white

Shrimp cleaner on special tools and gadgets

What don't you like? Holding the shrimp in one hand, insert the blade into the shrimp's "back" and lift. The blade splits the shell and cuts a groove along the vein line. Remove the meat from the shell and rinse quickly, the vein will come out and you will get good shrimp, ready to be cooked to your liking. WARNING - as directed in the instructions, do not wash in the dishwasher as this will ruin the tool.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Disappearance

The jagged edge will only maim the shrimp!

It doesn't work! Why all the great reviews? Do humans really need a device to remove their shells? That's why God gave you fingers. Once the shells are off, the shrimp are simply mauled, making it look like someone started eating your shrimp and then changed their mind. Standard old-fashioned devices work better. But I gave up and used a small sharp knife to "peel" the shrimp. Worked best. Just keep your little fruit knives sharp.

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • Nothing here

If you use it properly you will have no problems

I don't quite understand why so many people are having trouble with this tool but I have found it very helpful and useful. a major upgrade over the methods I used prior to purchasing this tool (I used to use a paring knife or skewer). I place the shrimp in the palm of my hand, backside up, and then, starting from the side of the shrimp's head, run the tool along the back of the shrimp. The tool doesn't grind my shrimp at all and kind of "takes over" the entire shrimp digestive tract and I canโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Large selection
