I was hoping these little sinks would work in my sink but when I put one in and turned on the water the sink just filled up as the water flowed. When I turned off the water, the sink drained very slowly. I would not recommend this product.

This is a good set of two stainless steel mesh filters, the right size for many sinks. Mesh filters allow you to use the sink without worrying about items going down the drain and help drain the fast-flowing water quickly. They are also easy to clean. In general I am very satisfied with their performance. Just keep a plug handy in case you need a basin full of water.

My husband kept dropping parts of his electric shaver down the drain while cleaning. At 45.00 for spares it drove me crazy. It's not his fault he has thumbs; while the details were thin and small. Tried many variations of this for my standing shower. The drain cap was old and rusty and eventually fell off. I wanted to try this so I bought it. Remember that mesh is not malleable like fine mesh. I use it to drain my bathtub. Hair and dead skin particles are easier to shed. With a fine mesh, dead skin particles always get caught between the wires and get in the way. This filter can expel particles better. Qtip helps if you don't want to touch the mesh part. Measurements were pretty accurate. The diameter from one edge of the outside edge to the opposite side is literally 2 1/4 inches. The top of the basket is about 1 1/4 inches and the bottom of the basket is about 1 inch. Working in our sink but unfortunately we didn't measure the drain and it has a little more slop than we would like as the water pressure can move the strainer and dirt can get in.
