PacTool International SA904 Gable Scribe Review

I've always wanted a corner tool big enough to actually mark the board. We placed the scriber on the underside of the roof, aligned the lower arm and got our tool kit for all of the corner trim. Mark the skin with a drawing pin, cut with scissors, use geckos to hold the skin in place and pin in place.

Mine is now unusable because one of the screws fell out and got lost on site. At what price should it get better? Now I need to find a screw that works to fix this.

This unit is fine. I tried to use it earlier to measure the angle for my crop but it didn't work that well. Hopefully it works better when I get to the siding! I read the reviews on this product and thought about its quality, but to be precise with the cuts on the current project I tried. The reviews said it was flimsy and it was easy to lose the screws so I was careful to make sure the screws were tight. I love this pen, it has a great design, easy to use and gives great results. I really like this tool and I use it in every job. However, it doesn't hold up well when tossed back and forth. The very first time I tried to use it as a fairing shear guide, it pulled out a few bolts and I spent some time finding the bolts/washers/gaskets and putting them back together. Some were never recovered and left a sour taste in the mouth. I would recommend getting some threadlock and going through it before using it in the field. Pactool has to do this at the factory.
