A must for any electric fan upgrade.

All the cars in my project get an electric fan instead of a mechanical one to minimize wear on the water pump pulleys and power loss due to the mechanical fan loading the engine. These thermal closers are an integral part of ease of installation and reliability.

Pros
  • Thermostat switch for use with fan relay kits
Cons
  • Compatibility

Great sensor works as advertised.

Addition to my review. The switch works fine, I found another problem. I would recommend this sensor. That doesn't work with my engine. My fans wouldn't turn on so checked that the switch was ok. The problem was that the adapter covered the sensor too much from the refrigerant flow. This sensor should be longer

Pros
  • Connection terminals included
Cons
  • Only available in white

Works great: engine cooling and air conditioning

Accidentally ordered the wrong size but finding the 1/8 NPT fan switch is a nightmare. I decided to use a larger thread in the coolant adapter, soldered the pigtail, it works fine. still easily manages two Mishimoto electric fans on my ae86. The temperature was off by a few degrees, but only one gauge was used to check, no cross calibration. In any case, the car remains nice and cool so far.

Pros
  • 1/2" NPT to 3/8" NPT adapter only
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Works great unlike another brand I tried first!

I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited. It came from the factory with an electric fan controlled by two thermal switches, one on each radiator hose, to turn the fan on at low and high speeds. Unfortunately, Jeep has discontinued all parts of this system, including the switches, and they are not available in the aftermarket. It requires a small modification to the wiring as the connector is different, but otherwise it is a direct replacement. In 2015 I tried the Derale switches in each…

Pros
  • Thermostat turns on at 185 degrees and off at 175 degrees
Cons
  • I have doubts
