I love these tyres. Luxo Soft Ride

These tires are fantastic. They just exude quality. The side walls are very flexible. They are easy to assemble by hand. The difference in driving is immediately visible. The rubber tires are definitely better quality than the old rubber they replaced. The only caveat with these tires is that they pick up every tiny rock in the tread for the first week or so, but oddly they stop after a week or so.

  • Consistent Test Results

26 x 1.5 " much narrower than 1.5 "

I previously bought this tire in 700c for an old road bike and really liked the tire when I decided to put an old mountain bike on a to overtake rough road I was looking for them in 26". I remember the 700c version was a little narrow on a narrow rim but 26" x 1.5" is 1-5/16" wide at best . Had I known they are much narrower than their size I would have looked for 1.75 inches or bought something else.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick

  • Minor issues

Great classic look with a smooth surface!

Great classic tyre! I heard a lot of good things about the Panaracer before I bought it and started riding it and it met my expectations. I have run a variety of street tires on many different bikes but they think these tires are excellent. Yes, they are relatively heavy compared to tires. However, this is nothing compared to ride quality and road feel. They deliver what makes the story of a good tire. The only downside is that you have to clean the side panels fairly regularly. This is…

  • Hard wearing finish

Poor quality at high price

Due to their light weight and perceived versatility, I was very excited to try these Pasela shoes. Unfortunately, the clincher on my front wheel came off the sidewall at least an inch, causing two different tubes to burst. I was going downhill at 40 km/h, I could REALLY hurt myself. Someone's quality control is rubbish and I now consider my time, effort and money wasted returning this product. Niagara needs to replace my tire (no trip to UPS) AND at least one inner tube. In short, buy something

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities

  • High price

Good looking, dry rot prone

UPDATE: I've had these tires for about a year now and they have rotted so badly that they have failed catastrophically. Both sidewalls at the same time simply tore and failed. These tires ride well and look good new, but they are only 9 months old and are already noticeably rotted and slightly cracked. I live in Albuquerque, it's dry and at high altitude (lots of UV), but I've had other tires that have lasted MUCH longer than this one. I've even taken good care of them by treating them with UV…

Over 300 miles and I fell in love

I had many doubts about these tires - too light and too soft after my Schwalbe marathon this winter and reports of cracked walls did not inspire confidence. The tires flexed like a figure eight, turning into a small 'O', making them awkward to mount and align properly and very, very stiff. I also had to use a large 700X28/42C (27X1 1/4) tube to accommodate the old single wall rim design. But after driving over 300 miles I can say I fell in love. Good traction, high pressure and light weight…

Classic vintage look but not the most durable tire.

I have used these tires on several different sized bikes. The largest is 700 x 37. The image above shows the tread pattern of this tire. The tread pattern of this tire (700x35) differs from the standard tread pattern for narrower tires like 700x28 (http://www.amazon.com/Panaracer-Pasela-Bicycle-Tire-Brown/dp). /B0010VZGKC/ref=pd_sim_sg_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0AD059DWQSDSYTBGJ830). It doesn't matter, just keep it in mind. I have used these tires on all surfaces and when I mean everything I mean…

Maybe you have a fool suitable for sport

I have used the Panaracer Pasela on many bikes in the past and have had great results. They ride smooth and fast and have that classic rubber wall look that I love about my vintage bikes. The last pair I used were very worn after a few thousand miles on a 1976 Raleigh in the harsh Middle East conditions. After a year the sidewalls showed cracks and the tread was flattened significantly, but it was still drivable. However, as much as I love these tires, on the last set I bought one of the…
