I bought this specifically for when I forget to take the litter outside during the day and don't want to step on dog gifts. It's absolutely perfect, I tilt my head forward a bit and get a cone of light right where I need it. I ordered spare batteries based on other reviews that mentioned battery life. They're not very expensive and I didn't have time to talk about battery life, but it looks like swapping out will be quick and easy.

Everything is fine. Not even close to the beanie hat I also bought and used. This cap is narrow and difficult to plan. I survived wearing it because I really needed some light in some dark hallways. Great hat, very useful for night walks! The cap has three settings: light directed towards your feet, light directed further, and a combination of two settings for maximum illumination. I usually have lights under my feet so I know where I'm going, but the second setting is also very useful when the dogs are running in front of me. A must for electronics fans, hobbyists, campers, etc. I'm deducting one star because the brightness quickly decreases after a short time. However, it maintains this lower brightness long before the batteries need to be replaced. I don't know if this is a function of the batteries themselves or a design flaw in the unit's circuitry. I've been using powercap bulbs in different colors for over 20 years 10 years since I first saw her at Lowes. When they get dirty from sweat and dirt and stink, I replace them. Of course they can be washed, but I've found that thin wires often break when washed or dried. I recommend using the Ballcap Buddy in the washing machine and then air drying to minimize damage.
