I like to use tortoise shell pins to style my hair back and up in a messy bun. Even if they're a little visible, I think they look better than the old-style rubber band or the banana clip. The good ones glide easily but have enough grip to stay in place, they aren't too smooth and have a slight camber, and they have tips that don't cut the scalp - that's a 9 out of 10 Scale.
