BROUGHT THE SECOND TIME I used it - see update

I tore the 8 speed chain and just started putting pressure on the tool than the tip has broken off. In fact, after spending so much, the tip breaks on the second use. UPDATE: I contacted Park Tools and they were very professional and sent a replacement tip. They also included detailed instructions that should prevent this problem in the future.

Pros
  • trial period for one year

Worth Every Penny: Cycling

If you rarely use a circuit breaker, you might not need it. But if you change chains frequently, this tool is great. The fit and weight of the tool appear to be a quality tool. Two large handles offer better tool control, especially if your hands are slippery when working with a dirty old chain. The large swivel handle also prevents it from digging into your hands. Great product, I recommend

Don't buy this chain tool it's the worst

Mine broke the second time I used it, the pin broke right off the crank. So if you want to buy this don't buy it, I didn't have it It's for a day and a brand new chain tool that went straight into the bin. I'm so pissed about it I really hoped this chain tool would work and be useful but it didn't break the first day it went in the mail , and before I used it I broke makes sure nothing is broken or that everything is fine.

Top of the line chain tool

Let's face it - chain tools don't look glamorous. However, this one is incredibly well built and easy to use. It does its job effectively and efficiently with minimal effort. Does it cost a few dollars more than others? sure . .you can't argue with that. At the same time, it will last a long time and make your life easier, so it's worth it in my opinion. If you want to spend less, you have to buy several different chain tools over time. If you want to do it right, just buy it and you're done.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • There are flaws

Bent Pin 2. I pushed

I pushed the pin out to remove the chain fairly easily, then bent the tool while removing the pin to accommodate my new chain size. Everything was aligned and straight, don't know what the problem is. I went to the local bike shop and bought a multi-tool that worked great for the rest of my new chain setup - and it's small enough to fit in my trail backpack. The mechanic was surprised that this tool broke; he said they are usually quite strong. Returns and refunds were quick and easy.

Money Well Spent Sport

Fast Chain Repair. The KMC X10 chain pins are a beast! I had a Bell brand chain tool in my tool box but never used it. As my chain began to tie I thought I was ready. The Bell chain tool broke trying to remove the chain pin. The Bell brand tool actually broke on the anvil, like Superman slightly bending a steel rod. I ordered the Park Tool then realized why the Bell Brand Tool broke. The KMC network is built like a reinforced concrete wall! Rschunimagu. It took a lot of effort to remove the…

Much, much better than the cheap switch I had before.

I had bought a cheap circuit breaker before and it seemed to work but was difficult to use and often had to use pliers to apply enough force to push the pin out. The needle broke after a few uses. That's why I bought this tool. Like all other park tools I've bought it's high quality, durable and looks like it will last forever. Today I replaced an old rusty chain and it worked like clockwork. It's easy to push the pin out without using pliers or anything. Smooth and simple. Should have bought…
