Good for patching up your wheels.

Suitable for a quick setup when the wheels aren't too bad. Works better and is much easier than straightening them in the bike frame. Does not replace the correct stand. The end result is a handy addition to a work stand and I'm glad I made the purchase. For example it worked well to replace a broken spoke.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Unreliable

Perfect for the home mechanic who doesn't fit wheels

Great value for something you'll probably never use. I didn't want to spend the money on a more expensive table stand when I would probably true a wheel 1-2 times a year. if any. I would recommend adding a screw to the tip of the slider to get a much more accurate truth and an audible "scratching" sound when it hits a high point on the rim.

  • Have fun
Cons
  • Think big

Cool, functional, but not entirely indispensable.

It's a neat touch, but once you get the hang of it, using a bike frame will probably be just as easy. The plastic friction indicator only really works when the wheel is moving in a certain direction and in contact with the rim as it is flexible. If I were designing it I would use something more rigid like a metal ball pointer. The bike mount is very nice. I've used it a few times but I really don't need it, it's more of a cool gadget than a workhorse.

Works great with Park Tool PCS-10!

I was a bit skeptical about the usability and accuracy of this item. I'm neither a pro nor a fan of the steering wheel; I just like good real discs that I make myself. This thing works like a champ! I've even used it to repair brake discs. You won't get pro-level accuracy, but you can quickly fix a wobbly bike that rides nice and smooth. And by using it to set up the rotors, I was able to set up my mechanical brakes a lot better than trying to set them up with calipers on the bike. I am veryโ€ฆ

It works but takes a little more work than the nicer kick stands

Suitable for truing wheels. I even built some wheelsets on it. However, it is not as easy to use as a real wheel straightener. Real wheels take significantly longer to build and are even more difficult to wash if you want to go the cheap route and skip the dishwashing tool. If all you do is service your bikes and don't care about getting your wheels perfectly aligned, then this is a cheap alternative to the much more expensive wheel straighteners. It's basically the same as the TS-8 for 1/3 the

Recommended for horizontal straightening

Works with sufficient horizontal accuracy and the wheel can be mounted on either side. I'm having trouble removing 2 screws from the cover of my PCS-10 bike stand. You must remove the cap to install the lower arm of the tool that measures wheel correctness. Please note that this tool only works with some Park Tool bike racks. The bolts were tightened into nuts embedded in the plastic head, and the nuts spun in the indentation as they were unscrewed, making their removal a difficult task. I hadโ€ฆ

Good addition! in assembly stand

I was looking for other assembly stands and came across this one by accident. If you already have a Park Tool repair stand, you're good to go. In fact, this is an addition to these racks. I have PCS-10, mine came in a little box. The metal wheel mount is screwed to the back of the mounting clamp arm. They give 2 long hex head screws but I already used those in the repair stand. The pressure gauge snaps into place and you can move it up and down. It's plastic, but not flimsy. This is much better
