This is what you need to build a road bike

This is the size that will fit 14 gauge nipples and Sapim CX-Ray spokes. It's very handy for initial tightening of the spokes when assembling a wheel and can be used for final tensioning or adjustment, although I find an open-end wrench is better for the final steps as it's quicker to put on and take off.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • very expensive

Three sided are great for general customization and four sided.

These are simple and decent needle adjusters. I have an almost complete set of parking keys and they work fine. The 3-sided are great for general donning, while the 4-sided work well for stuck nipples but are difficult to put on and take off for repeated donning.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Hard to say

Fits perfectly. - Needle tools

FINALLY! A spoke wrench that fits my heavy duty cruiser bike perfectly. I put off straightening my rims because I bought crappy multipurpose spoke wrenches that didn't fit for some reason and would have scratched my spokes anyway. I didn't want to round and ruin the nipples or scratch the spokes. NOW I can face this challenge with confidence. Thanks ParkTool. Excellent key for knitting needles.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Tape

After the visit I decided to use this special tool.

I decided on this particular tool after I went to my local bike shop with a bike that I needed reworked and asked a technician there to show me what tool they would use. I was shown this tool, specifically the red one, for the exact size of the spoke nipple on my bike (different colors for different sizes). After replacing my single speed cruiser with a three speed cruiser that required removing and replacing spokes, this tool worked great. You can use the screwdriver at the base of the nipple…

Typical Park Tool quality.

High quality that's what you've come to expect most from Park Tool. I find it faster and less clunky than the universal wheels. It fits well, either directly onto the needle's nipple or by stripping the needle to its end, which lends itself to a curved loop. Also, being a one size fits all eliminates the hassle of checking or finding the right size slot that quickly gets old when working with multiple spokes. no wire spokes, by the way) for the correct width across flats. I have a 2020 Jamis…

The best. to sport

I used to work in a bike shop and used them every day. They are "one size fits all" but this is the best tool I've found. I've never seen one break, and in my short college career I've used several that have proven effective over the years. Yes, there are nipples with different sized needles, but that goes for most things. Try to use the same Allen key for each bolt on the bike. Try to use the same socket wrench or combination wrench for all bolts on the bike. Hell, in my career there have…

Best/Fastest Sport

These Park Tool spoke wrenches are the best I've found for adjusting spoke tension. They're quick to put on and take off, and while they sometimes slip off, they're much easier to use than other spoke wrenches. It's better to have one that fits your particular bike than one with multiple sizes. And it's ergonomically bent to fit, so you can get used to fitting it quickly and turning it the exact amount for each spoke. Unless Park Tool improves on that design, don't worry about anything else…
