I thought they were made of plastic or at least looked a lot cheaper. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Of course they are suitable for a Halloween costume, but the quality is surprisingly very good. and they go well with my boots. Only the cheap plastic strap was too small (I wear women's US size 10). So I made my spurs out of an old belt.

Very impressed with the quality and durability of these spurs! Easy installation and configuration. The leather piece that comes on top has two slits on each side to accommodate any child's shoe size, while the jingling metal chain that runs under the arch of the foot can be easily adjusted by removing a link or two. For the price I am very satisfied with the quality. My grandson just loves them!

**EDIT** AFTER 5 MINUTES YOU WEAR BROKEN! ** FIRST CHECK ** Went fine. The chain that goes under the boot will need the links removed to get the right size. This is easy to do with pliers. We also painted the leather straps black to match the boots. I've included a picture of the liquid polish we used. Nicely made but a bit noisy when my baby walks. Bought for a 6 year old. He loves her. The only thing that's a little odd is that the chain that holds the spur to the boot runs along the bottom of the boot, resulting in part of the chain hitting our hardwood floor as we walk and making a lot of noise. I had to remove the chains and widen them a bit to fit my boots (I wear women's size 11) but other than that they are amazing! Made of metal so you get a "click" and a good weight. To expand them I just pulled on the ends, I'm not very strong but I was able to do it without much effort. I didn't use vinyl tapes at all, just made my own tapes from strips of woven leather from a craft store, which worked great. This is a great addition to any costume, highly recommend! Slightly defective packaging with one side already open left me with only one of the 'leather' pieces. I couldn't find it anywhere in the package I received but to be honest it doesn't bother me.
