Low quality! The way to softness!

I bought this to remove a Shimano tapered grip. I am very mechanically experienced and took my time. I put it in my aluminum handle and started the extraction process. The fitting was not tight and felt loose and then started to move when pulled. The thread on the tool and the crank were destroyed. I was able to force the Park Tool version into the grip and it was a success. The thread on the device turned out to be slightly undersized. Not a good tool, get a quality tool.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

The socket is rounded and can strip the threaded nut.

I have a Shimano crankset and it fits much better. This head is beautifully chrome plated and attaches to the half of the drive, but the ends of the teeth are rounded so they don't mesh well and slip off easily when you try to attach it. I'll probably have to grind the toe to get rid of the rounded end and get a better bite so I don't pop the nut. The puller must be lubricated with oil/grease before use. Otherwise it works very well. Be sure to unscrew the silver screwdriver before fully…

Not very durable for sports

Unfortunately the processing of this tool is very poor. I'm not sure if this is an isolated case or a production issue. The tool's external threads fit into the crankcase, but the threading between the outside of the tool and the puller pin is terrible. Just before using it, I noticed how loose it was when I inserted the extractor into the outer casing. I pulled out one handle and wanted to make another but the tool didn't work. The threads inside the aluminum outer case have failed, and the…

This tool will destroy your grip. DO NOT USE.

Install the tool on the drive side crank. Thread the tool into the crank by hand, being careful not to twist the tool. The instrument fits perfectly. Apply a slight twist with a wrench to ensure the tool engages and engages all available threads in the connecting rod. No need to use force here as I just wanted to make sure the tool touched down. Replace the plunger portion of the tool by hand, being careful not to cut the threads of the tool. Once this part fitted onto the crankshaft, I began…

Worked exactly as needed. Simple but durable and easy to use

I needed to remove the pedal arms from my bike to tighten the center bearing so I did a little research before settling on this tool. I noticed a few negative reviews but decided given the price I'd give it a try. Two tools are included; one to pull out the pedal arms and the other to tighten the bearings. I can see where the lever puller can be problematic if you didn't tighten it properly or used small wrenches to turn it. The puller consists of two parts, one black, one chrome. You must…
