I can definitely recommend this knife, it does its job very well. I had one as a kid and wanted another, although this one isn't heavy cast iron I remember it being a lightweight aluminum version that does its job well and has great suction that requires little to no effort to close assemble. It is valuable and works perfectly.

Best $20 I've spent in a long time! This year my apple trees were exceptionally productive, producing a couple bushels per tree that we couldn't eat, so I decided to freeze the apple slices for later use, but was afraid to do it all by hand. This peeling/coring/slicing machine is amazing, easy to clean and does a lot more than you would expect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I bought this to replace an old one that wasn't working properly. The description says Heavy Duty Diecast but it's not Heavy Duty at all. The arm continued to bend as the apple tried to go through the slicer. The peeler was digging too deep into the apple leaving nicks and the suction pad at the bottom just kept popping out. The item is totally unusable, but I cannot return it within the return period.

I was a bit skeptical about how well this "trick" would work, but after a few adjustments I was able to clean the fastest hand knife. Without doubt. And he cuts the apple nicely and removes the core. Now you can easily slice the apple, cut it for pies or applesauce. Works very well. Peeling just one apple for a simple meal is simple and straightforward.
