Do not buy this product

We purchased this item on April 19, 2016. Our 3 year old friend used it half a dozen times and then on June 18th 2016 the chain broke and it won't stay on. I can reinstall it, but it quickly falls off again! Now I believe this is a common problem with this product. I tried calling customer service but they close at 4:30pm EST. Now I have to wait until Monday to call, but other reviewers don't have high hopes that PegPerego customer service will do very much to help.

I hate it but I had to send it back!

As per other reviews the tractor arrived with the chain dismantled and although I was able to put them back on the sprockets after a few turns of the pedal by hand there was no traction on the slippery ground and the chain kept falling down. And attaching the trailer basket to the frame/wheels was pretty damn near impossible. Also in the ratings everything is mixed up with other tractors, so you really don't know what to believe. We ended up with a $300 metal model and it's an amazing tractor!

Parts for the trailer are missing but the tractor is great.

The tractor itself was in perfect condition and our grandson immediately started driving it whilst waiting for his father to assemble the trailer. That's when the problems started. It's quite difficult to assemble a trailer without having a single piece for it. It has a trailer, wheels, an axle, but absolutely nothing to put the wheels on the axle. Now I'm trying to find homemade parts and my 3 year old grandson keeps asking if he can use his trailer.

Not the best quality.

I really like the look of this tractor. We are a farming family and we love our John Deere products. The van is nice and hugs the back of the tractor well. The only problem I had was that the wheel fell off after a short while. :(. Unless your kids are very picky you might live with it longer than us. That's a shame because it really is the cutest little tractor and my kids loved it as long as they could use it. From For the Price I think it should have lasted more than a few months before…

Manufacturing Issues

We ordered this item for our grandson (he was 2 1/2 when we bought it) as a gift for last Christmas. We had to attach some parts but we were not able to attach all parts because the necklace came with the wrong chain. I contacted the company directly to see if there was an easy fix and they told me the tractor should arrive with the chain attached but as it didn't they would have to send us a kit to do it ourselves to do. It wasn't easy to disassemble, put on the chain and reassemble. Our…

Easy to assemble

Bought this tractor for my son's 2nd birthday. It was easy enough to put together and the finished product looked very polished, although some parts felt a bit flimsy. However, when the kids tried to ride it, the drive chain immediately slipped off the sprocket. With a bit of disassembly I was able to get the chain back onto the drive train, but it slipped off again as soon as I tried to pedal. It seems to be a design flaw as I've tried multiple times to fix the problem with the same result…

Don't disappoint your child.

This tractor has only one wheel drive, which means that when the child pedals, one rear wheel moves and the other three wheels have to move because one of them propels it forward. Tricycles work this way because the drive wheel is in the middle. There's a reason cars come with either two or four wheels. Think of canoeing: you paddle both ways equally, if you don't want to tack you just paddle one way and go the other. One-wheel drive causes 2 problems: 1. The tractor pulls sideways. The Peg…
