Big enough for my 8 year old to fit in.

I bought this case to safely store and transport Alienbees photo lamps. At the moment I have an AB800, an AB400, a Vagabond Mini Lithium battery, three Canon 550 EX flashes, remote triggers, extra batteries plus external batteries for the 550s, 7" AB reflectors and an AB reticle stack. With all that in, I can always throw in another AB flash and two more Vagabond Mini Lithium batteries and feel confident testing it on the plane. my cpap, light camera kit and laptop for commuting to work. I also

Big. GIGANTIC. best in camera bags

The thing is huge. The size ratio for Pelican cases is usually very conservative when it comes to estimating the amount consumed versus the amount of storage provided. But this is a pelican, how can you not love it? I use it to store all my DeWalt cordless tools, batteries and accessories. One thing about this suitcase that might be off-limits to some is that it's very heavy when empty. You have been warned! This is my first (of many) Pelican case with wheels and a retractable handle. I'm 6ft 4

Pros
  • Pelican housings are sealed with a tongue and groove connection and a polymer O-ring.
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Great for cruising if you want to bring a case of Bacardi!

I bought this case to use as luggage and yes it ran out. I'm tired of the standard case breaking after 1-2 uses. To be fair I've repacked my luggage and will explain why I took the Pelican 1650 suitcase. I bought it for a cruise because we usually take a Bacardi suitcase on cruises because it's so cheap. I can tell you that the Pelican 1650 (with the foam removed) fits in a crate of 1 liter Bacardi bottles. If there was nothing easier than I would be so happy. I used to have to pack every…

Cons

Great case for video production!

I now have 3 Pelicans and plan to buy more in the future. I bought a Pelican 1500 case at the same time as a 1650 and have owned a Pelican Air 1535 for about 4 months. I run a small video production company and use these cases to store and transport almost all of my gear from body to camera and lenses to microphones, monitors and even tablets. The 1650 is a very large case and for me it packed a lot of equipment. As for "constructing" the inside of the case with "pick and assemble" foam, I took

Pros
  • 4 durable polyurethane wheels with stainless steel bearings
Cons
  • Low maintenance
