Excellent in camera lenses

In my tests today with three other lenses, it just blew up another Pentax 24mm Prime from the film days and the old Vivitar didn't stand a chance. The Pentax DFA 24-70mm was close, but this lens was something special. Excellent sharpness and colors even at f/2.8. Outstanding with 5.6

Great lens for Pentax K1

I bought this lens to photograph the Milky Way but I like the fast auto focus for kids and animals. Also ideal for wide-angle shots of landscapes and buildings. 5 stars for autofocus, image stabilization is a feature of the camera - the stars don't refer to the lens, 4 stars for portraits mainly because I like my 50mm lens for faces. Great lens - shame I didn't get it sooner.

Impressive lens! good for camera and photo

I haven't had a chance to really practice with this lens, but I really like what I've seen. Ultra sharp throughout the zoom range, great in low light, fast and quiet focusing and a wide range make this a great addition to my K1 arsenal. It's big, heavy, but I knew that when I ordered it. My only gripe and the reason for only 4 stars is the non-removable hood and inability to install standard thread filters.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Vulgarity

One of my favorite Pentax FF lenses. Great for a landscape travel lens. The weather resistance and image quality held me back over the cheaper options. I don't often look away from my K1 as it's a very versatile lens. Heavy and big, but worth a little extra weight for amazing results. Will be my travel and astro workhorse. Take one, you won't regret it.

Excellent wide angle lens for Pentax K-1.

I use this lens on my Pentax K-1. Pros: Excellent and stable sharpness throughout the focal length and from center to edge; low chromatic aberration in the center but, as is usual with wide-angle lenses, it increases towards the edges (but nothing the LR Classic can't handle); durable, well made and water resistant. Cons: Heavy and external zoom that can lead to dust and water ingress over time. While the sharpness of the Rokinon/Samyang 14mm f/2.8 is considered very high (not to mention it's…

A must for k1

This lens is very good. Some might cite obvious shortcomings (size, weight, etc.), but that's just the physics of a lens capable of shooting at such speed and at such a wide angle. Overall the lens is great, it has great contrast and is very sharp, I'm not sure but it might be a bit warmer than some of my Pentax film lenses but that's just a random observation. Aberrations are well controlled but not completely eliminated. Sharpness across the board is good, with excellent results only stopping

Good color rendering and sharpness.

I love this lens, did some architecture photography last Saturday and the color reproduction surprised me. I usually use a polarizer, but this lens is not very suitable for use without a significant investment. To my surprise, it created an insane amount of blue in the sky without using it. It was also very sharp, but that's fairly common with most lenses in this range. It's one of two lenses offered by Pentax that are mostly outsourced to Tamron. I've seen people claim they've just been…

Impressive glass!

Decided and ordered this wonderful lens; there was a choice between a new laptop and a new lens, luckily this lens won. Wow! The 15-30mm lens has arrived and it's much larger than expected. Photos taken with Pentax K-1 and processed with ON1, Photoshop Elements 14, processed with NIK Define and Sharpen; The exception is a photo from my camera with the lens attached, taken with the camera on my Samsung S8+ phone. Any other lens I've used with the K-1 has been outshined by this beast. Watch out…

both are easily accessible without moving the grip

The first thing that strikes you about this lens is its weight. The lens is a bit large and very durable. While I prefer to have the focus ring facing forward and the zoom ring facing back toward the body, both are easily accessible without moving the grip. There's a good radius that keeps fingers in front of the zoom ring, which balances this lens well and makes it comfortable to hold. The next thing you'll notice once you've mounted and used your lens is the autofocus. If you test it at 15mm,
