Ease in kitchen and bathroom fixtures

I bought these filter housings to replace an old one that was leaking in my garage. It is very easy to replace by purchasing two extra 2" nipples and one 3" nipple. Done in twenty minutes.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Speed

Decent water filter housing

This water filter housing is solidly constructed. Installation requires the use of a large amount of thread tape (i.e. 15 inches long) to ensure connections are tight and leak free. It's only been installed for a month, but so far so good.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some problems

Much heavier and better quality than most

The Pentek case is more expensive than many of the brands you see here and in local stores, but the material is thicker and stronger and seals better. Replaced the Culligan unit with this one which kept leaking. Would definitely buy it again.

  • Quality workmanship

Difficult conditions! for replacement water filter

I'm assembling a water filtration system because bottled water is hard to come by during this pandemic. I use these Pentak 10" X 2 1/2" cases. I assemble DI water filtration systems in clean room labs and have used Amtek housings which was the old name for this company. These have been the best units I have ever used for durability and I keep going back to them for all small lab water purification systems. Would buy again!

Pros
  • tools and housewares
Cons
  • boring packaging

Sturdy filter housing but inlet and outlet threads are a bit messy

Four of these units are installed in a row on a well water supply. Replaced by a hodgepodge of various filter housings from the previous owner. These units are well built and much heavier than many of the cases you'll find at major hardware stores. However, I used Sharkbite fittings to connect everything and also used a lot of Teflon sealant on the pipe threads. Luckily I went that route because after hooking everything up and turning the water on I had a lot of leaks from places where the…

Pros
  • Spare water filter under sink
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

This ticks all the boxes. Very durable construction.

Ordered to replace the one shown in the first picture where the transparent body broke suddenly and without warning, releasing a lot of water quickly. Luckily it was in the garage and was spotted immediately. My criterion for the replacement was something more reliable. This Pentek block consists of a much thicker body with larger stiffeners. It was easy to install and will fit regular 10" pickups within a certain diameter range. It comes without a mounting bracket, wrench, or installation…

Pros
  • Water Filtering and Softening
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
