Enhance Your Dodge/RAM's Power: K&N Cold Air Intake Kit (2009-2019 5.7L V8) – 77-1561KP Review

This is a simple mod and will probably take a little longer than expected. 2 hours? It sounds a lot rougher, but I don't know if it affects anything else. I wish I could remember how the crankcase ventilation hose went through the engine when I removed the engine cover. I don't know if it's in the same place as before. I did not modify the OEM crankcase vent hose but added an elbow to match the fitting. It would be easier to just change it like the instructions say.

This intake works well. There's a noticeable increase in performance, and that sounds good too. The angle of the elbow isn't quite right, but you can get it working with a little fiddling. The price is also quite high for what you get. Labor, materials, tools, engineering, etc. may not be worth what they charge, but they have a good product, so they charge what the market has to offer. This product was installed on my new 2017 Ram 1500 Hemi the day after it arrived. Everything was smooth until the last step when I proceeded to install the mass air flow extension cable. The kit contains 2 different cable connectors depending on the model year. None of the plugs matched my plug, upon inspection I found that K&N had sent me two identical MAF plugs and of course it was the wrong one. Product still can't be installed. The first thing I noticed when unpacking was that the filter does NOT have a chrome cover. The kit was missing the neck from the adapter to the inlet hose. I got this for a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 with Hemi 5.7. Overall the fit and finish of the product is great and installation was very quick, the only thing that took longer. Second, figuring out which support bolt on the wing needed to be removed so the fuselage could be properly erected. The appearance of the product is fantastic.
