🔧 Efficient Installation with Performance Tool W89710 Harmonic Balancer Installer Review

I purchased this kit to fit a harmonic balancer to a Ford 4.6 modular engine and had trouble finding the correct thread installation tool although the kit is excellent quality.

one of the adapters broke the first time it was used, hardly any pressure on it, they sent a replacement fairly quickly, didn't use it. Let's see if the next project I do will be a shadow mechanics tool at best. In the best case.

Looks like made from inferior materials, the tools don't do the job. It would help if it came with a large, thick thrust washer to place in front of the thrust bearing, and the thrust nut and shaft require thin threading for less drag, more torque, and the possibility of thread damage.

I used this to install a 350 sbc harmonic balancer. I used high pressure grease and the axle box broke before the installation was complete. I'm rating it a 3 because not only is the bearing broken, but all of the adapter bolts that screw into the bottom of the grub screw are crooked. watch the video To complete the job I had to buy a new axle box. I ended up spending more than I expected.

Although the box label states that the Harmonic Balancer will work on a Ford 4.0 V6 engine, it will not work! Why? The adapter will fit on the crankshaft, but when connected to the jacking screw it will not work. The blower screw is too large in diameter to fit through the harmonic balancer. The rest of the instrument is of good quality. It simply will NOT work on a 2008 Ford Mustang 4.0 V6. I'm returning for a refund.
