My cat uses it every day

I live in upstate New York and my cat loves to be outside. since i bought this for him i always find it on him, he loves it! I have the heated version but since NYC winters are harsh I also added some wool blankets and when I touch it after it's out it's always very warm. Sometimes when I call him into the house he just looks at me from his house as if to say he prefers his house to mine! The roof is very strong. If snow piles up on it, it never seeps in, but I still shovel the snow every day…

PROTECTED ONLY Outdoor use

Don't even think that this item can withstand rain, snow or outdoors. It will not. The ad makes it sound like it does. Thing will work outdoors, that's for sure. But by open air they mean a sheltered place where it's not exposed to the elements, including contact with the earth itself. None of this will work. It ONLY processes the outside temperature. Cats will survive because they have an enclosed space. The house needs protection, like a garage or a porch. A few more things: assembly…

works well with some improvisation

I bought this house for a feral kitten who doesn't come indoors but hangs out on my patio 24/7. Unfortunately, I don't have an outlet nearby to plug in the heated version, so I had to improvise. Before assembling the house, I reflexively doused the whole house – floor, walls, roof. Then I covered the whole house with thick plastic sheeting in case it rained, put everything on a small sled and covered it with a tarp. For the inner bottom, I put a piece of styrofoam for insulation, glued a…

Overall good quality product

This is our second K&H purchase. The first was a heated frame cat house we bought a few years ago for a feral cat that we made from TNR. He sprayed it, so now it smells horrible. Anyway, back to this one. The quality of this house is superior to the half-timbered house. The roof is insulated from above, which provides some thermal insulation. I appreciate how easy it is to customize the design which is much better at keeping the cat warm. A small enclosed space is ideal for windbreak. I bought…

No I can't fit in it but it helps me sleep at night.

I have had a single wide cat house K and H for many years. This year I bought 2 double wide cat houses for my outdoor cats. They were easy to fold and connect different parts together. Although the structure is not indestructible, it is rigid and well supported. It can also be washed with a hose and sponge as it is completely covered with a thick, canvas-like material. Underfloor heating with fleece covers the entire floor of the house. It serves both as insulation and as a source of warmth as…

  • Quick Start Guide

I wasn't sure how to rate this as I'm not happy or dissatisfied with this purchase, I'm just disappointed. This is going to be a long review. I purchased this outdoor "heated" cat house from Revain a few days ago for $53.99 before tax and it arrived quickly, in about 2 days. Pretty easy to put together. The walls are connected to each other with velcro and to the roof each with a plastic zipper on the thinner sides and velcro strips on the longer sides, which unfortunately don't cover all the…
