compare to other collars this is very cheap and worked well when i first got it. Over time, I noticed that the shock and vibration functions have significantly less power. I can set it on the highest shock level and it doesn't even phase my dog whereas when I first got it I could set it on two settings and it would yelp and run straight at me. The collar works. Not sure how long it will last as it seems very cheap. Particularly remote. I wouldn't say it's very difficult, but it's not easy, nor is it effective. You need to hold down the menu button and then cycle through all the options to set the shock/vibration level.
