I was looking for something relatively inexpensive for my teething 5 month old kitten. Hesitant to invest too much in something she might ignore, as well as some of the comments, I went ahead and purchased this toy. The initial response was a lot better than expected, the first few days she only chewed and pulled at the ribbon, but slowly began to chew at the red wheel. Within the past week she's been nomming on it like a pacifier. The red rubber spiked message the sides and backs of her jaws…

My teething kitten was biting everything. Once I got him this, he played with it and bit it constantly. He would chase and and roll around the floor with it. He really seems to enjoy it!

That catnip oil is really something. I have two cats, one is a kitten and this toy was purchased for him and his lil pin sharp teeth. But the adult cat, who doesn’t like the catnip leaves, was all over this toy because of the catnip oil. She was seeking it out from the other room. Bizarre, but effective. Both cats like the toy and play with it.
