The product itself looks good. But I couldn't install it because there was no fixture in the kit. I think I'll go to the hardware store next weekend.

My Meyer's parrot is about the size of a cockatiel. It gnawed away both perches and most of the shelves. I threw away what was left because I was afraid she would get sick. I only had a set of about 2 weeks. She wasn't interested in sitting on it, just chewing on it.

You get what you pay for. I could do it myself as the quality is pretty cheap. The wood isn't even stained and the sandpaper seems to peel off after the birds chewed on it for a minute. If you did it as a DYI project you would probably save half the cost, but on the other hand I didn't have to spend that time on it. I will save it

I liked it and I think the birds will like it too. I posted sizing pics to help others as I thought the poles would be longer but they aren't. The yellow is a little off, but for the price and the luxury of ordering it online without having to go anywhere, I can live with that. Order again.

A few months ago I got a budgie and went in search of natural branches to get rid of the problem of always sitting on smooth perches of the same diameter. The branches were working fine but as you can see in the photo from a month ago her nails have already started to grow. These abrasive perches greatly reduced the length of their nails. She loves to hold on to it (often upside down) and enjoys chewing on it, which also shortens her beak. Cheap, simple and effective.

The assembly of these perches is fine. However, after my Senegal parrot started showing signs of possible exposure to toxins, I read about the dangers of zinc in galvanized metal (a major source of poison for pet parrots). So I tested the bolts, washers, and wing nuts with muriatic acid (which reacts with zinc in galvanized metal by foaming). The results have been positive - all the metal used in these perches is toxic! I had to replace the included gear with stainless steel, which cost a lot…

Coating good on these items, perches are good for budgies, tigers and the like. Decent sized wooden platforms for small birds and my budgie loves it so will order again if I need another set! Please do not alter quality ie chipped edges on platforms or worn coverings on perches etc. e. I've seen this on other kits. re-order another set and of course I received a damaged part in the set, the picture is attached to this update. The green platform has a deep recess.
