Ideal for axolotl aquariums!

Great for my axolotl tank. When preparing the reservoir before they got here, the water temperature was 71 degrees. I didn't want to constantly add ice cubes or swim around in a tank with a frozen water bottle and I took a chance with this fan and I'm glad I did! I was a little apprehensive at first as the description said the temp would drop about 2 degrees so I bought a 4 fan unit for my 29 gallon and it keeps the water temp at a consistent 64.6 degrees! 6 degrees drop! I saved hundreds by…

Keeping temperatures down

I put this in the sump of my reef tank. I used a cooler last year and it wiped out my electric bill. I hope that makes it better. I would have liked the four fan version but it wasn't on the list. This keeps my tank at 78.8 and I love it. 4 stars because it would be better if it opened all the way so I could mount it on the edge of the tray, but other than that it gets the job done, it's low voltage so it shouldn't kill my electric bill. EDIT: I just took this down because temperatures in the…

Used on an axolotl tank in Arizona. The power connector fell in when reconnected (after cleaning the tank) after only a few months, cooling my 16 gallons to 69 at best. I had to add ice packs to help with cooling. Actually not as long as I was hoping for how much it would cost. Needing something quick before the next purchase, I ended up buying a $6 Wal-Mart fan, which did a better job of cooling my tank down to 65 degrees. The reason it gets 2 stars is simply for the aesthetics. My neon green…

A good option if you agree to replace the fan on a quarterly basis.

I can't even describe how cheap they are. The mounting rail is just a U-shaped piece of metal with two screws. I can't think of an easy or practical way to mount it securely if you have any type of cover for your setup. In fact, we went through two such blocks. None have lasted more than 3-4 months without at least one fan failing. Complete failure came a few weeks after they got significantly louder and one fan stopped completely. They work well enough to cool the water slightly. It's cheaper…

As bad as the shipping was

The seller contacted me after writing a 1 star review. The product didn't appear for 30 days after it was supposed to appear. The seller refunded my money in full and kept the goods for me. They asked me to check my rating after I received the item. As bad as the delivery was, I have to say that the fan works well. I have a 60 gallon reef with a radiator. In the summer, my cooler turns on about 2 times an hour. I have this fan to keep my radiator from working so hard to keep the tank temp…

Literally a lifesaver for my axolotl! Cooled the tank FAST!

We just got our Axolotl for the winter so keeping him at a safe temperature hasn't been a problem for him. In the last week or so here in Oklahoma the temp has climbed to 100 and our axolotl is staying up so I started my research when the water temp in his tank started to rise to 70. I found this and after reading all the helpful reviews especially for axolotls I didn't hesitate to try it considering the price of the tank cooler wasn't something I would want to buy but I certainly would if it…
